I'm liking your idea. I have some of the same pipe left over. How are you going to keep it upright? Are you make skids so you can drag it. Square post aren't going to attach real well because the screws will be going into the corner of the post. I was thinking about 6" PVC runners with large self tapping screws and fender washers. By the way I cut one of mine right after seeing this post. It holds the u shape well but bends easy the other way.
