Though originally thought to be harder and louder underfoot, SPC is now softer and quieter than in the past. It has also steadily increased its market share through tangible benefits like dent resistance. SPC&#;s dense nature, in fact, has led to the ability to print designs directly onto the core of the floor rather than on a print film, which lowers pattern repeats.



&#;SPC is the leading volume core technology in rigid core due to its affordability, high dimensional stability, waterproof properties and high indentation resistance. WPC flooring , mineral core, etc. also offer good properties for rigid core but are more expensive than SPC with trade-offs in performance,&#; noted Ana Torrence, hard surface category manager for Engineered Floors.
