Lighter in weight than heavy duty wood stretcher bars, the Museo ALU Frame Stretchers provide a crisp true-to-square system that is truly revolutionary in construction & what options it affords artists, especially those who ship larger work to galleries, collectors, & clients. Crafted from durable aluminum, the Museo stretchers are edged with Norwegian spruce to provide a smooth, clean stretching bead, allowing ample room to back staple or nail your selected canvas or linen (with no edge ghosting). The system not only allows for tightening if needed with the Spanner hardware, but easily breaks down so that artwork can be rolled & tubed, with stretchers placed in a separate tube for ease of shipping.
Cross bars can be added at any time without disassembling, and the system is so strong that no cross braces are needed on sizes up to 48"! The revolutionary extender allows for making virtually any stretcher bar size, which combined with cross bracing, becomes completely dimensionally stable. Easily modify work that is already stretched with this system, to ensure compliance with different museum and gallery pre-requisites regarding bracing distances.
Included hardware:
Spanner: used to tighten canvas. The Spanner is attached next to the corner connector. Simply loosen the corner connector & tighten by pushing it towards the corner & then tighten the corner connector (repeat this for all four sides).
Allen Key: required to disassemble and reassemble canvas frame, & also needed to tighten the Spanner.
Hangers: Attach easily to the grooves of the aluminum section of the bars. Depending on the weight or size of the canvas, you will receive either the screw eyelets or the heavy duty hangers.

The Stretcher With A Heart
Professional stretching companies, studios and serious artists have all searched for the ideal stretching frame that would be of the finest milled, kiln dried wood and a milling system to create the ideal corner system. A system that would both be fixed and allow for tightening the canvas if it became loose.
The wood is Spruce wood which is the most uniform of woods which is reinforced with a lamellar system to provide superior resistance to torsion.

For the stretchers themselves each end is routed with a patented Elettro-milling machine that routs out the ends to be set in the Heart connector. For deeper moulding the corners are routed two deep and two Heart connectors are used to connect the corners. A patented screw is inserted in each side of the heart connector and may be adjusted later on by simply turning the screws to push out the wood until the canvas is taught again.
For the cross braces the wood is routed to fit the oval connectors and these too are fitted with the special screws. At any time canvas tension can be adjusted by simply turning the screws at each cross section.
