Understanding, wet exhaust systems

I&#;m trying to understand what&#;s normal and acceptable. Port and starboard side have different water flows. One side appears to have more water dumping on the outdrive and the other side appears to have more water coming out of the exhaust.

I&#;m sure there&#;s someway that these are balanced for proper water flow?

is it necessary for the drives to have water on them for cooling? I&#;m assuming so since I&#;m reading stuff about drive showers

I&#;m about to pull the thermostat housing and see if one side has a thermostat stuck open or if the thing has any thermostats at all &#;&#;&#;&#;

(Port side has just a trickle of water coming out of one of the small tubes but the picture didn&#;t capture that Makes no difference if it&#;s in the lake or on the hose. It&#;s the same. New pumps)

Appreciate any feedback!

Not new to boating, but new to wet exhaust and most of my boats were shaft drive. Couldn&#;t find anything about the topic on YouTube.I&#;m trying to understand what&#;s normal and acceptable. I do agree in the right application this stuff would be awesome as a quick fix to get a car running or something.

The inside is fairly smooth, it is as smooth as the OEM IC connectors, but it is not as smooth as a piece of metal piping. I think this would be a great material to use if someone needed a very complicated series of bends, but for my application, it's not really gonna save me any money now that i have the real price. Its over $100 for just a few feet, but thats also why it has such a hi temp rating.

And when I say I have a $ budget, that is for everything. I mean everything. GT Turbos, inlets, downpipe flanges, outlet pipes, intercooler, ECU tune, injectors, MAF, etc etc etc etc. So, spending $500 on JHM's kit is not an option when I can get the same core for $100. Since my intercooler inlet pipes (turbo outlet pipes) are custom, there is no reason to buy the JHM pipe set either since I'd only use 2 of them.

Thanks guys. And Jared. Had you just given me reason why you said no in the first place, people wouldn't be arguing. You have to quantify your answer. Everyone has opinions, what makes them valid is the argument and information that backs them up. You could have said the cost, you could have said the smoothness of the interior, you could have said a variety of the reasons why you think it will not work. If you asked me how I thought the new Audi S4 was, and I said was "good", thats a 100% worthless opinion without me giving my reasons why.

You are right, it isn't that much cheaper. I was told the wrong price at the Marin Supply spot. It would only be about $50 cheaper then getting a custom bent aluminum piece. It would still help ease of fitment, but in the end, it is not going to be worth it if its only $50 more. The advantage is that if I decide to change anything round as far as the clocking of the turbos, etc, it would give me more flexibility. I'm just going to have to run silicone connectors.The inside is fairly smooth, it is as smooth as the OEM IC connectors, but it is not as smooth as a piece of metal piping.
