Fixing Expanded Metal Lath; Also sealing a wall with PVA ...

I'm prepping a kitchen for re-plastering (by a Pro - I've seen enough to know that Plastering is Black Magic )
One of the walls is down to brickwork and I've been advised by a Builder friend to fix metal lath around the door frame to help stop cracking of the plaster - I'm looking at this stuff:

8X2 Galvanised Expanded Metal Lath Sheet - 685xmm

Gauge: 0.4mmHole length: 20mmHole width: 10mm 8x2 Galvanised Expanded Metal Lath Sheet is mainly used for internal and external plaster when applied on suspended ceilings and walls. It is also suitable for encasing steel columns and beams, assisting in the protection from fire. Galvanised

Also, I'm inclined to seal all walls with Bostik Cementone PVA 1:5 prior to the Plasterer working his magic (no doubt he'll apply a stronger bonding coat). Is this ok?

Many thanks
Brian

As regards wiring the mesh overlaps I'm planning on using 1mm galvanised wire - does this need to be anything special or will simple wire that meets that description suit? Also, I'm inclined to seal all walls with Bostik Cementone PVA 1:5 prior to the Plasterer working his magic (no doubt he'll apply a stronger bonding coat).
